Murphy Park in Urbandale, Iowa
The brand-new playground at Murphy Park in Urbandale is fantastic. The new playground is inviting kids who love to climb and love to slide! The large structure has many unique and challenging ways for a child to climb up to the top. The playground has traditional swings but also has a friendship swing (a swing with two standard seats facing each other.) They loved creating challenges and finding new ways to swing on them.
With an airplane to ride, a merry-go-round, a rock climbing tunnel, and sensory boards, the stand-alone extras add to this park. The park also has not only one but two sand diggers!
Murphy Park is a park that we often will bring the whole family to. My family loves that the two soccer goals have nets in them for most of the year; many family soccer games have been played here. The basketball-loving teen loves the half-court here. We also love the brand-new restroom behind the open-air shelter. There is a large loop paved trail too which is perfect to bring beginner bike riders to.

Located Near Murphy Park
Murphy Park is located about a mile from Merle Hay Mall which has many things to check out. Our family is especially a fan of bowling at GameDay Lanes in Merle Hay Mall. Down the road from Murphy Park is another newly renovated playground, Rocklyn Park at 70th St and New York Ave.
